TAKE A PEEK AT OUR EVENTS AND ACTIVITIES TAB FOR OUR OTHER SUMMER OPPORTUNITIES TO GET OUT AND ABOUT!

In 2008 Southend Borough Council were awarded the finance and the opportunity to become a Cycle Town for 3 years. This involved many elements of encouraging more cyclists to cycle more often in the Town.
In this time Cycle Southend helped to increase cycling by 17%.
In Summer 2011, we were again awarded more funding through the Local Sustainable Transport Fund to continue this work in addition to other sustainable transport plans for the Town.

Cycle Southend continues to organise cycling activities that offer something for everyone as well as looking at the Towns Infrastructure. Many new cycle routes in addition to Cycle maps have been developed.

From the chance to ride our mountain bike simulated North Shore track to Adult Cycle Training and guided rides.

Regular groups are advertised on the site for a chance to ride with like minded people, make friends, pick up tips etc.
Check out the Events and Activities list via the Tab above for a full list of upcoming cycling opportunites.

Most events are free, for any that do need pre booking or payments required please click the link on the events page.

The Recycle Centre renovates pre-loved bikes and then offers them at unbelievable low prices back to the public, we are also always keen to receive unwanted bikes for renovation and re-sale. See tab above for more information.
