BikeIt
BikeIt is new to Southend and helps young bike riders to try loads of new stuff, take part in interesting activities and get involved with exciting events.
BikeIt runs through schools that are interested in promoting safer cycling. A BikeIt officer is assigned to help teach you everything you need to know to help you become happy, healthier bike riders.
Your BikeIt officer will work with you to find the best routes for you to get into school and will arrange fun events that get everyone involved – including a day where teachers, parents and kids like you all ride in to school!
They will also develop fun lessons and activities for you. You might create colourful collages in art about what cycling means to your community, or you they could organise courses that help you and your parents understand how bikes work and how you an repair them yourselves. Or, your BikeIt Officer might help you make a film about how bikes are bringing out the best of your community. You might even get the chance to meet with international celebrities from the world of cycling and ask them how they got into their sport.
What Can You Expect From BikeIt in Your School?
