Who is Jill Kintner?

One of US cycling’s ‘Golden Girls’, Jill Kintner is a multiple World Champion in the white-knuckle, shoulder to shoulder cyclesport of 4X. In 2008, she fulfilled a lifetime ambition to compete at the Olympics, where she took the Bronze medal in the BMX finals.

What was your first bike?
JK: Dunno what it was, but it had E.T. stickers all over it and a sweet basket that I put my cat in.

What are you riding now?
JK: Transition Bicycles, and a Honda 150r

Can you fix a puncture?
JK: Yeah, but that's what a fresh tube is for.

How quickly?
JK: Haven't timed it.

Do you wear a helmet?
JK: Always.

What’s the one thing that could make your cycling life easier?
JK: Self cleaning bike.

Race pace or leisurely dawdle?
JK: Speed is always better.

Tarmac or dirt?

JK: Are you for real? Dirt!!!!

Where do you see cycling being in 5 years’ time?
JK: Dunno.

Where’s your dream cycling holiday destination?
JK: Colorado, NZ, or Canada.

What’s your top cycling tip?
JK: Use the flow.
