Fearne Cotton Gears Up for Sports Relief!
On Monday 1st March 2010 David Walliams and his team of celebrities started on their non-stop relay from John O’Groats to Land’s End to raise £1 million for Sport Relief.
The team of David, Fearne Cotton, Miranda Hart, Russell Howard, Davina McCall, Patrick Kielty and Jimmy Carr battled for four days through brutal conditions and extreme fatigue to complete the non-stop relay ride. They endured temperatures of -15 degrees C including blizzards. The team also suffered dramatic falls, cuts, bruises and excruciating saddle sores as they strived to reach their target of £1m.
After a gruelling 82 hours they arrived at Land’s End at 18:50 GMT on Thursday 4th March 2010.
"It was tough, I am not really built for this. We were cycling through the night at minus 15 degrees sometimes," Walliams said afterwards.
The Little Britain star added: "We're all shattered. But it was great working as a team. There were no egos.
"We were all supporting each other a lot. We've all shared something quite special together."
Davina McCall said “We all got emotional when we came into Land's End.”
