Go-Ride
If you're looking to get more out of your bike then Go-Ride could be the perfect club for you!
Once you've got the basics, Go-Ride give you a great opportunity to get out and try something new, in fact there's something for everyone – of all abilities, aged 6-16 years old.
Go Ride is about learning new skills and techniques that are useful for when you're out riding as well as for racing. It aims to show you what cycle racing is like and what skills will help you to do become a better cyclist, which will make the roads safer for everyone. Go-Ride helps you to get out and ride and have fun on two wheels. It evens runs a separate schools programme that aims to encourage even more people to get on their bike.
Go-Ride is British Cycling's development programme for young people. It focuses on improving coaching standards and increasing the number of young riders with access to coaching activities. It also provides a fun and safe way to introduce young riders to the world of cycle sport and provides a platform to improve bike handling skills.
Schools are also able to get involved with the Go-Ride Programme, where a Go-Ride Coach goes into the schools to deliver sessions, with the opportunity for these to conclude with an interschool competition against other schools also taking part. The best bit is that all of this is FREE to the school and there are already three schools signed up for the programme this year. There will also be plenty of Go-Ride activities and races going on throughout the school holidays within Southend aimed at young people.
To find out more about Go-Ride, drop a line to our team or visit the Go-Ride website. To get Go-Ride to visit your school, get your teacher to contact Keeley Bunton, your local Go-Ride Coach, on 07940 302177 or keelybunton@britishcycling.org.uk.

The competition is open to both the schools taking part in a 6 week long Go Ride programme, which is delivered by Keely Bunton, who is the Go Ride Coach for Southend-on-Sea and children who currently participate in their schools own Go Ride after school club.
